Malau's Birthday Surprise

We threw a surprise party for Malau last Monday. We celebrated her birthday a day earlier as she was leaving the country for Amsterdam the next day. SP and SV came around to our place late afternoon to make the surprise birthday cake. Unfortunately, the cake was not a success even though we used a ready-made batter (how is that so ). It seems like my housemates and I are not blessed with cullinary skills. We have celebrated countless birthdays and yet, we still fail to make a proper and nice cake (with the exception of cheesecakes la, this one oso have to be under XV's supervision). After the disastrous cake-making session, SP masterminded a mischievous prank on the birthday girl. We were supposed to lure her out of her room and sing the birthday song to her. After the song ended, and while she was making a wish, we splattered the cake towards her face. The end results was...

The unsuspecting victim...

The slightly burnt chocolate cake...didn't look appealing...

As to what Malau had to say on her surprise birthday joke, please read the previous post by her. Later at night, we brought Malau out and treated her to a scrumptious meal at The Counting House. It's located in front of George's Square and it's actually more of a bar than a restaurant. We settled ourselves in the comfy chairs and ordered our meals to feed our rumbling stomachs. I will let the pictures do all the 'talking' as to what we had that night...

SYT's peri-peri chicken with side orders of chips and corn on cobs. According to her, the chicken was not spicy at all even though it was given a rating of 5 chillies...

BBQ chicken with melted cheese and bacon. The sauce was out of this world...

XV with her fish and chips...

The dessert, Belgian waffles...this tasted heavenly!!!! The waffles was soft but not soggy and it literally melted once we placed it in our mouth. On top of it was a scoop of Movenpick vanilla ice cream and it was drizzled with heavenly-sweet maple syrup.....yummy....

After the makan session, we surrounded the birthday girl and gave her....

Kisses!!! Look at how overjoyed she was when everyone puckered up their lippies.... ('',)

After the kissing session, SV was pretty high...

And SYT tried to calm her down...

It was a wonderful outing and everybody had lots of fun. However, the night didn't end yet as we head back home to JBC. While we were chattering away at Bock J-5, a very well-known celebrity visited us.....

It was none other than Jang Nara herself...

It was a night to remember for all of us =)
